Fwd: Photos of Land Trust Summer Volunteers 2014

We kicked-off the NCLT Summer Volunteer Program with a barbeque hosted by the Podlesak's on Saturday and on Monday the four boys and I toured Symington, Livingston-Higley, Browne, Fieldcrest and Colhoun. I think we have a good group of volunteers and the program will succeed. Nice photo from Gina Podlesak below.
The volunteers were impressed by the wilderness of Symington, awed by the wonderful Livingston-Higley fielld and stone wall, climbed the Browne erratic, walked Fieldcrest and explored Colhoun. One big highlight was seeing a bluebird and nest eggs in our birdhouse  on Colhoun, and realizing that the meadow is full of milkweed which is great for monarch butterflies.

Today starting at noon the boys will be at Brown making our signature look blue bird marker poles as well as cedar wood kindling bundles. Tomorrow is invasive plant instruction on Symington, Thursday stone wall repair on Livingston-Higley, and Friday woodchips on Fiieldcrest.

Josh Fisher (Advertiser Editor) and I will tour a few properties this afternoon, including the new entrance to Symington, Livington-Higley and Browne to say hi to the boys.
