The Land Trust Annual Membership drive is now underway!

Dear Friends, Neighbors and Members of the New Canaan Land Trust,

Albert Camus wrote “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” What an
appropriate observation on the continuous cycle of seasonal natural beauty that
surrounds us in New Canaan.

The Land Trust Annual Membership drive is now underway!! Our mailer to your home
includes a recent article reprinted from the New Canaan/Darien Magazine plus the map
of Land Trust parcels and open space in our Town. The article and accompanying
photographs should bring you up-to-date on your Land Trust activities.

We’ve had a pretty good year - receiving two Pedestrian Trail Easements, an
Acquisition of a 4-acre parcel adjoining an existing 2.5-acre parcel, a second successful
Summer Stewardship program, an Eagle Scout project, a Girl Scout Project, an
extended invasive plant management program, a guided Audubon & dog walk,
workshops on chainsaw safety and stonewall repair, a well attended lecture on the
history of stonewalls, an increase in visitation to our Symington and Browne
Sanctuaries, and growth in Membership.

There is still much to do. As a Land Trust Member, you help us fulfill our mission to
preserve the open spaces, wildlife sanctuaries and scenic beauty of New Canaan. With
your support we can continue to work with local landowners to preserve additional land,
provide stewardship of 371-acres of protected land, and open selected existing
preserves for your passive recreation and enjoyment.

Thank you for your support,

The Board of Directors of the New Canaan Land Trust

PS: Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for our 48th Annual
Membership Meeting on October 21st at 6pm in The Sanctuary of Grace Farms

located on 365 Lukes Wood Road.
